Art Presentation Tomorrow

The art presentation date is tomorrow. Any students who had not finished last week have been asked to finish and review the presentation at home. Some students were asking how to access their school account at home. I have provided steps to help the students access the information at home. Step 1: Go to google. Step 2: In the top right corner click on the bubble to sign in. Step 3: Sign in using school log in (school email/password). Step 4: Click on the grid of dots beside the letter in the top right corner. Step 5: Open Drive to access Slides. Students will also be able to go to the student portal at this point. I have included a link at the bottom of this post. There students can access Hapara where all the information is for their project. The students have been encouraged to practice in front of their families tonight for practice. https://sites.google.com/a/ocsbstudent.ca/k-6/

Weekend Health Homework

There were a few students who didn't finish their health work in class today. Those students will be bringing their yellow duotang home this weekend to finish the two pages. The first page the students need to cut out and glue or write which scenario goes with which type of bullying. The next page the students colour in the type of bullying the scenarios represent. Attached I have the squares for the first page in case any went missing during the transportation. I have also attached the definition of each type of bullying to assist with the work.

January 20-24

This week we have a short but busy week in the grade 4 class. Art- Wednesday is our last day to work on our Artist project in class before they are due next week. Presentations are next Wednesday and all information is on Hapara. Any work not done by Wednesday becomes homework. Science- This week we are researching pulley systems. Students will be choosing one of their choice to research on Wednesday and write about. Gym- We are starting Handball this week. It was a game not many students are familiar with. After our first day they are loving learning the rules. It helps when there's a magic number (3) that fits in to all the rules. Health- We are continuing our Kindness Project and discussing anti-bullying and online safety. The students have done a great job reviewing tips on how to stay safe online. The Kindness Project is about halfway done now. Once all students have had a chance to complete it I will be printing off the photos for students to take home.

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Today we welcomed back the students and it was great to see their smiling faces. A new year means new projects are getting started in our morning class. Gym- We have just started our new floorball unit. Students are very excited to play the closest sport we have to hockey this year! Health- We started a Kindness Project in our class today. As your child how we are showing kindness to other students in our class. We started with two students today and will be doing two more every Health class. We will also be focusing on cyber-bullying and how to be safe online. Science- This week we will be starting our pulley and gears unit. Students have been asked to start thinking about where we see pulleys and gears in our everyday lives. Art- Students will be starting an Artist research project on Wednesday. All information for this project will be found on Hapara. Students will have 3 classes to work on their projects. Any w
