February 3-7

We have another short week ahead. Here's a look at what the 4's will be working on.

Science- We have our pulleys quiz on Wednesday. Students all have been given review sheets last week. If they forget them or lose them there are also copies on Hapara. We have gone over in class how to access Hapara at home and there are instructions posted a few posts down (under Art Presentation tomorrow). We will then be talking about gears the rest of the week and how they are used in our lives.

Gym- We have started a unit on badminton today. Students are excited to try a sport so different than the ones that we have been doing since I started.

Health- We are continuing working on our kindness project and have started kindness posters. Each student drew the name of another student and must draw a picture of their favourite things and write a sentence about what they do that is kind.

Art- We are starting to work on drama this week. Wednesday we will be playing a few games to get used to what drama is.

This week is also library on Wednesday! Students were reminded today to bring their books in for it.

Online Learning and Class Dojo

Hey everyone, What a week it's been. Who would have thought this is how March Break would have turned out. I have sent emails to all students with information for parents on how to sign up to ClassDojo. That is where I will be posting any announcements or updates during the Online Learning section of our year. If you could please follow the instructions and sign up it will be much easier to contact each other during these times. I will also be reaching out by phone starting tomorrow to try and connect with all families. As of now there is no mandatory work for students to do. If you child is bored or wants to stay in routine here are a few websites they can go to. https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome.html http://www.amazingeducationalresources.com/ https://www.ontario.ca/page/learn-at-home https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL14hRqd0PELGbKihHuTqx_pbvCLqGbOkF The student portal also has great websites for the students to use. January 20-24

This week we have a short but busy week in the grade 4 class. Art- Wednesday is our last day to work on our Artist project in class before they are due next week. Presentations are next Wednesday and all information is on Hapara. Any work not done by Wednesday becomes homework. Science- This week we are researching pulley systems. Students will be choosing one of their choice to research on Wednesday and write about. Gym- We are starting Handball this week. It was a game not many students are familiar with. After our first day they are loving learning the rules. It helps when there's a magic number (3) that fits in to all the rules. Health- We are continuing our Kindness Project and discussing anti-bullying and online safety. The students have done a great job reviewing tips on how to stay safe online. The Kindness Project is about halfway done now. Once all students have had a chance to complete it I will be printing off the photos for students to take home.
